Awk, appending a number in the first column of a row with a condition
Hi everyone,
I have a data file in which the data is stored in event blocks. What I would like to get is that the same file with every data row starting with the number of event block. So here is two event blocks from my file:
after an awk operation I would like to get the following form:
How can you delete a row if a certain column is bigger than a certain number?

Hi, I wanted to add each row of file2.txt to entire length of file1.txt given the sample data below and save it as new file. Any idea how to efficiently do it. Thank you for any help.

array msql_fetch_row (resource $result)
DESCRIPTION msql_fetch_row(3) fetches one row of data from the result associated with the specified query identifier. The row is returned as an array.
Each result column is stored in an array offset, starting at offset 0.
Subsequent call to msql_fetch_row(3) would return the next row in the result set, or FALSE if there are no more rows.
PARAMETERS

result -The result resource that is being evaluated. This result comes from a call to msql_query(3).
RETURN VALUES
Returns an array that corresponds to the fetched row, or FALSE if there are no more rows.
