I have to use the head command to search a directory AND all of its subdirectories to display the first line of all .txt files. hi, sorry for asking what I am sure is a really easy question, I am wanting to cut the users real name from the output of 'finger'.
$ cut -f2-3 filename
is in my script but it only seems to cut the first line.

Hi,
How would one send an email from the command line. Just a simple email. I used mailx -s "test" address@server.domain then hit enter.
Nothing happens then, I hit Ctrl + C twice, then I can start a new command again.

distro-info - provides information about the distributions' releases
SYNOPSIS
distro-info [OPTIONS]
DESCRIPTION
distro-info is a symlink to the distro-info command for your distribution. On Debian it links to debian-distro-info and on Ubuntu it links
to ubuntu-distro-info. All options described in this manual page are available in all distro-info commands. All other options, which are
not described here, are distribution specific.
OPTIONS
--date=DATE
date for calculating the version (default: today)
-h, --help
display help message and exit
-a, --all
list all known versions
-d, --devel
latest development version
-s, --stable
latest stable version
--supported
list of all supported stable versions
