Just adding > /dev/null 2>&1 to cron job definitions doesn't mean that an actual problem is fixed, (if there is one) but you may stop further messages.
I forgot that failed sending to external email will generate failure return reports for the sender.
What do you see in the mail for these users? Can you paste (in CODE tags) a sample?

We have all the user account in a home direcory where their mail is stored and retrieved by email clients. When I look at the users file it seems as if every email sent/received is in that user file! Is this because IMAP is being used or is that just how sendmail works?

How can i get my mail on either /var/spool/mail or /var/mail?

I have some problems w/ the sendmail. I see that messages are queued in the /var/spool/mqueue

I have a bunch of cron jobs in the crontab. For some reason mail from the cron jobs started going to /var/spool/mqueue instead of being sent.

My /var gets filled up often to 100%
When I investigate I find that it is the below file which increases rapidly

DESCRIPTION
Pass a pointer to a zero terminated string as parameter. This should be used to specify the sender's email address when sending SMTP mail
with libcurl.
An originator email address should be specified with angled brackets (<>) around it, which if not specified will be added automatically.
If this parameter is not specified then an empty address will be sent to the mail server which may cause the email to be rejected.
The application does not have to keep the string around after setting this option.
