I want to show a fıle example abot non-printable chars , like @vbe already mentioned unsuitable its the formatting
file view
mail view (file view and below view is different because mailer client interpretates the input for view)
non printable view
so maybe your report.txt has some nonprintable characters.
check your report file for this and define a standart writing.
if everything is ok then may check your e-mailer client software settings (like encoding->smaller/larger)
I have installed Solaris 10 over vmware onto my machine. Now when I want to change my screen resolution it only has one option which is 800x600. Is there a way to change that to a bigger resollution? And if there is, what file do I have to edit and what text editor do I have to use? (1 Reply)

It looks to be trying to run at 1280x1024. I don't think the hardware will support it, it seems high.

I need to get the current X*Y resolution of X in a shell script. xrandr -q gives me a line like this:
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1600 x 1200, maximum 3080 x 1600

the login screen resolution is 1024*768, but after login the resolution is 800*600. I want to set the login screen resolution as 800*600 too. How to do this?

sa2 - Write a daily report in the /var/log/sa directory.
SYNOPSIS
/usr/lib/sa/sa2
DESCRIPTION
The sa2 command is a shell procedure variant of the sar command which writes a daily report in the /var/log/sa/sardd file, where the dd
parameter indicates the current day. The sa2 command handles all of the flags and parameters of the sar command.
The sa2 command is designed to be started automatically by the cron command.
EXAMPLES
To run the sa2 command daily, place the following entry in your root or adm crontab file:
5 19 * * 1-5 /usr/lib/sa/sa2 -A &
This will generate a daily report called /var/log/sa/sardd It will also remove reports more than one week old.
FILES
/var/log/sa/sardd
Indicate the daily report file, where the dd parameter is a number representing the day of the month.
