I am new to linux (I'm solaris) and
I have been introduced to apt-get to check and upgrade packages.
I was told there is an option or form of the command to rebuild the kernel.
apt-get install kernel
Is this the form to upgrade the kernel, or you use
apt-get upgrade kernel

I had mysql client installed, then I upgraded my version of perl using apt-get install. Now, I want to get mysql-client working again and when I try to install it, I get:
/usr/bin# apt-get install mysql-client

Hi,
I would like to know the difference between YUM UPDATE and YUM UPGRADE. The man pages say upgrade is same as update with the obsolete option. And by default it says the obsolete option is turned on, which would make them equivalent. Does not say what obsolete does.
