Hi.. i am running nawk scripts on solaris system to get records of file1 not in file2 and find duplicate records in a while with the following scripts -compare
duplicate -
in the middle of script I get an error message saying nawk: out of space in tostring on record 971360... I am using a file having 2 million records. Please suggest.. It is very very important...
I searched and came to know that gawk can solve this, but it won't run on Solaris..

Heres the problem.
I have a line of data that can either be in this format.
"20" or
"20kg"
for the 20kg one i need to be able to read that their is kg on the end of this field and then ignore it and move on to the next line. Can anyone help.

Diff compares two files and generates a list of lines telling how the two files differ. Lines may not be longer than 128 characters. If
the two arguments on the command line are both directories, diff recursively steps through all subdirectories comparing files of the same

character special or FIFO special type, cannot be compared to any other file. On the other hand, if there is one directory and one file
given on the command line, diff tries to compare the file with the same name as file in the directory directory.
