I have a typical situation. I have 4 files and with different headers (number of headers is varible ).
I need to make such a merged file which will have headers combined from all files (comman coluns should appear once only).
For example -
File 1
H1|H2|H3|H4
11|12|13|14

A bioperl problem I thought could be done with awk: convert the fasta format (Note: the length of each row is not the same for each entry as they were combined from different files!) to tabular format.

vboxmode - detect format of isdn voice file
SYNOPSIS
vboxmode [OPTION] [OPTION] [...] FILENAME
DESCRIPTION
Vboxmode detects format of isdn voice files and au files (sun audio format).
OPTIONS -q, --quiet
Don't print information about the file, only detect format and return an error code.
-h, --help
Show summary of options.
-v, --version
Show version of program.
RETURN CODE
The format of the file is returned as an error code:
o for .au files a value between 128 and 150
o for vbox files a value between 2 and 6
o for unknown format or errors 255
