Using your logic.

Code:
STARTTIME=`date +"%s"`
./path/to/command.sh >>logfile.log
TOTALTIME=$(expr `date +"%s"`  - $STARTTIME)
ECHO This command took $TOTALTIME to complete. >>logfile.log
