I'm new to java programming and have been thrown into some code at work. I have a file to work with.
The file name used to be just filename.111, but was recently changed to 2013191filename.111. We have a java script that drops the word filename and just leave the ".111". Now I need to drop the "2013191filename". Only problem is, the 2013191 changes, so tomorrow the filename will be 2013192, then 2013193 ect ect....

I have two files one (numbers file)contains the numbers(approximately 30000) and the other file(record file) contains the records(approximately 40000)which may or may not contain the numbers from that file.

Does any one have any idea how to compare interval ranges of 2 files.
finding 1-4 (1,2,3,4) of input2 in input1 of same key "a" values (5-10, 30-40, 45-60, 80-90, 100-120 ). Obviously 1-4 is not one of the range with in input1 a. so it should give out of range.

i want all the numbers to be in european notation.
the numbers are in a text file, so to prevent that the regex also changes the commas in a sentence/text i thought of:

numrange - Print out a range of numbers for use in for loops and such.
SYNOPSIS
numrange [-dhV] /<expression>/
DESCRIPTION
numrange will print out a list of numbers based on an expression that you specify. This is useful for making a list of numbers for use in
for loops and so on. Ranges are inclusive. Ranges of numbers are specified using the .. operator, like this /20..50/, which means all
integers from 20 to 50 inclusive. More complex expressions can be generated using the commas and the 'i' increment operator.
OPTIONS -e <set> Exclude the <set> of numbers from the range output. <set>
is a set of numbers separated by commas.
-n <n> Use <n> as the separator between numbers. By default, it
will use a space. Use '
' or \n for a newline character or
use the -N option.
-N Just a quick option for using a newline as the separator.
-h Help: You're looking at it.
-V Increase verbosity.
-d Debug mode. For developers

You can also pad numbers when you are counting up. This is
a trick of how the Perl programming language deals with ranges:
$ numrange /01..15/
01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 15
BUGS
Even though you can do zero padding on simple ranges, like 001..100, it will not pad zeros on complex ranges like 001..100i2, or for
counting downwards.
