Perhaps you need to keep awk OFS="\t" more completely quoted in csh, as it triggers csh meta-processing?

Hello all,
I tried the following commands in the cshell, but failed.
~Cshell %set i=2
~Cshell %set fields${i}= ( ad dd dd )
~Cshell %echo $fields${i}
fields: Undefined variable.
~Cshell %echo ${fields${i}}
Missing }.

Stops the execution of the current shell (but not if it is the login shell).
csh
