If you use myarray[d]++ then you are counting the number of occurrence of each file which is always going to be 1 rather than sequence.

Hence using myarray[d]++ will give you below output:

file_1 1
file_2 1
file_3 1

You cannot use $d either in awk. Variables are referenced without a $ sign.
