Also you sometimes just have LVs without any FS on them like sysdump devices, raw devices, LogLVs, Paging Space. So you will use most probably rmlv to remove them.

awk to calculate difference of split and sum the difference

In the awk I am trying to subtract the difference $3-$2 of each matching $4 before the first _ (underscore) and print that value in $13. I think the awk will do that, but added comments. What I am not sure off is how to add a line or lines that will add sum each matching $13 value and put it in... (2 Replies)

/etc/devices /etc/devices/devid_cache /etc/devices/snapshot_cache /etc/devices/mdi_scsi_vhci_cache /etc/devices/mdi_ib_cache /etc/devices/devname_cache DESCRIPTION
The directory /etc/devices is a repository of device-related data. Files in this directory are used to preserve this information across reboots and are created and updated as necessary by the system. There are no administrative actions necessary with respect to files in /etc/devices. Should the contents of a file become corrupted or an update fail, the file can simply be removed.
