Yum update using expect
Hi,
I have an expect script which connects to whatever Ip is passed to it. It performs a variety of tasks, all of which it completes fine except for the yum updates. For some reason it sends commands early, during the yum update. Any ideas?

Hello
Is there a way to update a package to a specific version with yum?
So, I have version 1 of package A installed. Versions 2 and 3 are available, but I only want to upgrade to version 2. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi,
I would like to know the difference between YUM UPDATE and YUM UPGRADE. The man pages say upgrade is same as update with the obsolete option. And by default it says the obsolete option is turned on, which would make them equivalent. Does not say what obsolete does.

it installs 5.9
I dont want 5.9, instead i would like to upgrade to 5.8

Hi,
I run RHEL 5.2 as a server in my lab. Now the issue I am facing is that I am unable to update my machine using yum update.
It shows an error of missing dependencies though dependencies are already installed.
Please help me to do that.

SYNOPSIS
yum-changelog.conf(5) is the configuration file for yum-changelog(1) Yum plugin for viewing package changelogs before/after updating. By
default, this plugin will show the changelogs before the updates.

yum-changelog.conf(5) utilizes configuration options in the form of

OPTION
when This option reflects when yum-changelog(1) will allow changelog viewing during yum updates.

pre To make yum-changelog(5) show the changelog before the yum updates
post To make yum-changelog(5) show the changelog after the yum updates.
OPTION
always This option reflects specifies if the changelog should always be shown.
VALUE
true The changelog is always displayed.
false A command line option is required for the changelog to be displayed.

updateinfo
This option specifies that the "changelog" from the repo. updateinfo should be shown.
