I know what you're saying but any type of patching can give unexpected results (more so these days so it seems, especially 10u6 thru' 10u9) where firmware levels are involved.

And...the note about 125166-10 being required for some QL cards to work appears in the firmware release notes (strange though that seems).

If it was me I'd give that patch a go and post the results.
