You might also want to consider stashing the kill command in a script on the remote host and then just running
ssh -t X.X.X.X /path/to/myscript.sh

How do I kill a process, say by name "drec" from a perl script.
I tried with :
ps -eaf | grep drec | awk '{print $2}' | xargs kill -9.
The output I got is :

DESCRIPTION
ssh-argv0 replaces the old ssh command-name as hostname handling. If you link to this script with a hostname then executing the link is
equivalent to having executed ssh with that hostname as an argument. All other arguments are passed to ssh and will be processed normally.
