You haven't explained what anything in your loop does which makes it hard to reverse-engineer.

But I can tell you how a for-loop works:

db="a b c d e"
for X in $db
do
        echo $X
done

I think the -c needs to be out of the string, there.

su - user -c "whatever"

Returns a result set listing the stored procedures registered in a database. PARAMETERS
o $connection - A valid connection to an IBM DB2, Cloudscape, or Apache Derby database. o $qualifier - A qualifier for DB2 databases running on OS/390 or z/OS servers. For other databases, pass NULL or an empty string. o $schema - The schema which contains the procedures.
