I need to create 12 variables, the first of which is the date of the first day of the current month (01/01/2006), and the remaining 11 are to equal each month after the current.
var1 = 01/01/2006
var2 = 02/01/2006
var3 = 03/01/2006
var4 = 04/01/2006
etc.

Is there any way I can get the difference between two dates in terms of days?
I have used this method so far, but I cant format it in terms of days.

The o/p that I am getting is sort of like this:

I need help to toggle through dates on a weekly basis to be fed into a script as inputs. The format should be: yyyy/mm/dd (start) yyyy/mm/dd (end), where end date is 7 days increments.
The date (start) would be input as an ARGV and would continue until current date.

irsend [options] DIRECTIVE REMOTE CODE [CODE...]
DESCRIPTION
Asks the lircd daemon to send one or more CIR (Consumer Infra-Red) commands. This is intended for remote control of electronic devices such
as TV boxes, HiFi sets, etc.
DIRECTIVE can be:
SEND_ONCE - send CODE [CODE ...] once
SEND_START - start repeating CODE
SEND_STOP - stop repeating CODE
LIST - list configured remote items
SET_TRANSMITTERS - set transmitters NUM [NUM ...]
SIMULATE - simulate IR event
REMOTE is the name of a remote, as described in the lircd configuration file.
CODE is the name of a remote control key of REMOTE, as it appears in the lircd configuration file.
NUM is the transmitter number of the hardware device.
For the LIST DIRECTIVE, REMOTE and/or CODE can be empty:
LIST "" "" - list all configured remote names
LIST REMOTE "" - list all codes of REMOTE
LIST REMOTE CODE - list only CODE of REMOTE
The SIMULATE command only works if it has been explicitly enabled in lircd.

"irsend: Connection refused" (or "Permission denied").
