Operating Systems Solaris vnc windows unexceptly is closed after given root and passwd Post 302648687 by hicksd8 on Wednesday 30th of May 2012 08:53:58 AM

So from your post it seems like that you get prompted for userid and password, then it disconnects?

do you know what protocol you are connecting with? RFB (VNC's native), telnet, SSH, X11 or what?

Have you installed VNC Server software on the Solaris box?

My first thought is that after supplying credentials to Solaris, the O/S is saying "No, I'm not allowing you to login with those credentials". For example, root is not allowed to login over telnet unless the Solaris configuration is tweaked to allow it.

I would definitely assume (given the info you have posted so far) that Solaris is closing the connection.

Have you tried logging in as a user other than root?
