Hi all,
I am kinda puzzled. When and Why do we use md5sum? I've read man pages for mp5sum, but didn't get anything out of it. Please, can someone explain this to me in couple of words.
Thank you all. (1 Reply)

This is not a typical question. I have a fully working script but I'm interested in optimizing it.
I frequently back up photos and movies from my digital camera and cell phone to both my home/work desktops, laptops, wife's netbook, and my home NAS and often end up with multiple versions of the... (2 Replies)

Hello.
I'm writing a script where every file you create will generate a md5sum and store it into a text file.
Say I create 2 files, it'll look like this in the text file:
d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e /helloworld/saystheman

I am getting No such file or directory if my variable contains white spaces... Is there a way to fix this?

Tcl_Backslash(3) Tcl Library Procedures Tcl_Backslash(3)__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________NAME
Tcl_Backslash - parse a backslash sequence
SYNOPSIS
#include <tcl.h>
char
Tcl_Backslash(src, countPtr)
ARGUMENTS
char *src (in) Pointer to a string starting with a backslash.
int *countPtr (out) If countPtr is not NULL, *countPtr gets filled in with number of characters in the backslash sequence, includ-
ing the backslash character.
_________________________________________________________________DESCRIPTION
The use of Tcl_Backslash is deprecated in favor of Tcl_UtfBackslash.
This is a utility procedure provided for backwards compatibility with non-internationalized Tcl extensions. It parses a backslash sequence
and returns the low byte of the Unicode character corresponding to the sequence. Tcl_Backslash modifies *countPtr to contain the number of
characters in the backslash sequence.
See the Tcl manual entry for information on the valid backslash sequences. All of the sequences described in the Tcl manual entry are sup-
ported by Tcl_Backslash.
