as the title suggests, i need to print a user message to a log file and the screen using perl.
in unix i set up a function using 'tee' like so
function Display_Message
{
echo "$*" | tee -ai $LOGFILE
}

I have wrote a script and i want to be able to output my variable MSG_DEST (which is a log) to an email. so basically log contains:

when i email recipient it says

subject xxxxxx

In a directory I have more than 200 files with the extension .log
Using head command I want to print first 20 lines of each log file.
For each .log file, it should print like below

While running my ksh file, I require the logs to be written to another file. For this I use the below code:
write_log()

echo `date +"%d %h, %Y %H:%M:%S"` " : " $* >> ${LOG_FILE}
}
But inside my ksh file, am connecting to sftp server and executing some commands.

Using grep I can easily use:
cvs log |grep -iB 10 -A 10 'date: 2013-10-30'
to display search results and 10 lines before and after. How can this be accompished using gawk? (4 Replies)

CTFDUMP(1) BSD General Commands Manual CTFDUMP(1) NAME
ctfdump -- dump the SUNW_ctf section of an ELF file SYNOPSIS
ctfdump [-dfhlsSt] -u file file DESCRIPTION
The ctfdump utility dumps the contents of the CTF data section (SUNW_ctf) present in an ELF binary file. This section was previously created with ctfconvert(1) or ctfmerge(1). The following options are available: -d Show the data object section. -f Show the function section. -h Show the header. -l Show the label section. -s Show the string table. -S Show statistics. -t Show the type section. -u ufile Write the uncompressed CTF data to a raw CTF file called ufile. EXIT STATUS
