Try running 'autoreconf' and perhaps 'libtoolize' while in the same directory as ./configure, in some circumstances that can update it. But if it's just too old, or written in a way incompatible with the new scripts, it will still throw up.

installed Openserver Development System
installed Openserver Linker and Application Development Libraries
This gave me older gcc compiler 2.95.3 which is required to compile the latest gcc 3.4.3

2.Created subfolders ŕ /usr/local/bin & /usr/local/bin/gcc
3.Downloaded gcc & libiconv & unzipped them on my harddrive & burnt them on CD
