it is hard to help if you don't do what you've been asked to do...

i don't think that is the command you used... that is how the command SHOULD be used.

mount -F ufs /<san drive> /<mount point>

and the output of:

can not be:

Zpool status is mirror and online for all.

Can you migrate UFS to ZFS ?

I have some UFS volumes (non root), that I would like to change into ZFS volumes. Is this possible ? I think the only method is to create a new zfs volume and copy the data accoss, this would take a long time for us. Is there a quicker way ? Regards (5 Replies)

I have installed Solaris 11 Express on my machine. I have made a script which would take snapshots of all the rpool filesystems every day and send them to a (local) hard drive. Hi All After downloading ZFS documentation from oracle site, I am able to successfully migrate UFS root FS without zones to ZFS root FS. install-solaris - install the Solaris operating system SYNOPSIS
install-solaris install-solaris invokes the Solaris Install program. Depending on graphical capability and available memory at the time of invocation, install-solaris invokes either a text-based installer or a graphical installer. The following minimum requirements for physical memory dictate which features are available during installation: For SPARC machines: 128 MB Minimum physical memory for all installation types 128 MB Minimum physical memory required for windowing system 384 MB Minimum physical memory required for graphical-based installation For x86 machines: 256 MB Minimum physical memory for all installation types 256 MB Minimum physical memory required for windowing system 512 MB Minimum physical memory required for graphical-based installation In some cases, even if the minimum physical memory is present, available virtual memory after system startup can limit the number of fea- tures available. install-solaris exists only on the Solaris installation media (CD or DVD) and should be invoked only from there.
