fetchmail and postfix mail setup on Snow Leopard - request for guidance

I am leaving sunny cairns for sunny dry india end of february. I have not setup the local mail 100% correct - missing something, but email works fine.
So I am getting used to rmail and mbox logistics for the moment and will dig into the postfix setup in India. Thank you dude2cool for helping - much appreciated. I will get back on this and then hopefully be able to post a complete howto covering installing unix old school mail on snow leopard.

I've just installed Alpine on Snow Leopard but can't seem to get a default spell checker configured for it. What happened to spell? I can't find it at all on 10.6, must have been some changes. Does anyone know about the default unix spell checker on SL? Thanks! (0 Replies)

Now download db.zip installation archive and place it somewhere and unzip it:
mkdir Install
cd Install
# download db.zip to this directory
unzip db.zip

Hi,
We have few scripts that are run through jobs . It sends us daily reports (using mailx). This was working fine in Leopard. But in Snow Leopard there is problem with the attachments.Neither the attachment name is being displayed correctly(all it displays is "Mail Attachment") nor the format... (1 Reply)

postfix-nochroot - change /etc/postfix/master.cf to not use chroot SYNOPSIS
postfix-nochroot DESCRIPTION
Renames /etc/postfix/master.cf to /etc/postfix/master.cf.bak and creates a new /etc/postfix/master.cf file with every service configured to not use chroot. Every modified line is commented. It also restarts Postfix (to apply the change) and rmoves the unused chroot directories /var/spool/postfix/{etc,lib,usr} . Using a chroot environment makes upgrades more difficult and gets in the way when running SE Linux (without actually providing any security benefit in a SE Linux system). SEE ALSO
