Thanks for your time and work Klashxx,

the code works, though I now have some new problems
  1. i don't really understand it (but i'll try to)
  2. the code only works when i paste it into the shell, not when i try to run the script (but that's not the main point)
  3. i have to type in all FileA's (>200) consecutively (s. 4.) (also not the main point)
  4. i can't compare one FileA individually: if I take FileA[145], the values (if necessary) become substituted with those of line 1 from FileB, not with line 145

NAME

       paste - merge lines of files

SYNOPSIS

       paste [OPTION]... [FILE]...

DESCRIPTION

       Write  lines  consisting  of  the sequentially corresponding lines from each FILE, separated by TABs, to standard output.  With no FILE, or
       when FILE is -, read standard input.

       Mandatory arguments to long options are mandatory for short options too.

       -d, --delimiters=LIST
	      reuse characters from LIST instead of TABs

       -s, --serial
	      paste one file at a time instead of in parallel

       --help display this help and exit

       --version
	      output version information and exit
