Am using sftp (dsa method) to transfer 20 files from one server(sftp) to another (local). After the transfer is complete the files in the sftp server has to be renamed from .txt extension to .done extension ( aa.txt to aa.done, bb.txt to bb.done and likewise...).

I am trying to get a file with different name including date format using sftp.
For example --> get test.bak auto`date +"%Y%m%d"`err
Here i am trying to get the file test.back with name auto20120126err

In sftp script to get files, I have to rename all the files which I am picking. Rename command does not work here. Is there any way to do this?
I am using #!/bin/ksh
For eg: sftp user@host <<EOF

I have a .ksh script that creates an sftp batch file and runs it through sftp. It works except for one thing. If I try to "put" to a different name, it doesn't use the specified remote name...it still "puts" the original local name.

amstatus - display the state of an Amanda run
SYNOPSIS
amstatus [--config] config [--file amdumpfile ] [--summary] [--dumping] [--waitdumping] [--waittaper] [--dumpingtape] [--writingtape]
[--finished] [--failed] [--estimate] [--gestimate] [--stats]
DESCRIPTION
Amstatus gives the current state of the Amanda run specified by the config configuration. It may also be used after a run to summarize the
results.
See the amanda(8) man page for more details about Amanda.
OPTIONS
All options may be abbreviated to the shortest non-ambiguous sub-string. If no options are given, everything is displayed.
[--config] config
Specify the Amanda configuration you want to display the state for.
--file amdumpfile
Specify an alternate file instead of the amdump file.
--summary
Display a summary of the state of the run.
--dumping
Display all partitions that are dumping.
--waitdumping|wdumping
Display all partitions that are waiting to be dumped.
--waittaper|wtaper
Display all partitions dumped that are waiting to be written to tape.
--dumpingtape|dtape
Display all partitions that are dumping directly to tape.
--writingtape|wtape
Display all partitions that are writing to tape.
--finished
Display all partitions that are dumped and written to tape.
--failed|error
Display all partitions that failed.
--estimate
