If you don't find a way to change the temporary directory used by your installer, you can use this alternative.
Before launching it, run these commands:

/usr/sbin/mkfile 2048m /export/home/swapfile
/usr/sbin/swap -a /export/home/swapfile

Your /tmp directory will then have 2GB more available space until next reboot after which you'll be able to either remove the swap file or make it permanent by adding this line in /etc/vfstab:

       install-solaris - install the Solaris operating system

SYNOPSIS

       install-solaris	invokes  the  Solaris  Install	program. Depending on graphical capability and available memory at the time of invocation,
       install-solaris invokes either a text-based installer or a graphical installer.
