Linking of Maintenance Pack 4 Fails
Ah yes, a link_unix failure. I don't have MP5 but I do have MP4, from which I previously extracted the updated graphics drivers. Today I decided I might as well install the whole service pack, in preparation for switching to a new motherboard, host adapter, etc.
I got the following message after the attempted linking:
i386 ld fatal: symbol referencing errors
undefined symbols:
bs_doarg
newproc1
getblkh
bwirem_bio
which are all in /var/opt/K/SCO/link/1.1.1Hw/etc/conf/pack.d/drt/Driver.o
Driver.o cannot be read from a text editor. I've checked the usual configuration files, and they seem to be OK. So: has anyone encountered this specific problem and has the solution?

Apparently the problem is with Pacific Code Works' Tuneup. However, I'm very reluctant to remove that product, as I enjoy playing with the parameters. Aside from doing that, what else can be done?

OK, I used a spare SCSI drive (as a test), restored UNIX to it from a backup, and then removed Tuneup. I then installed Maintenance Pack 4--this time it linked with no issues. I suppose now I will have to live without Tuneup!

QGfxDriverPlugin(3qt) QGfxDriverPlugin(3qt)
NAME
QGfxDriverPlugin - Abstract base for Qt/Embedded graphics driver plugins
SYNOPSIS
#include <qgfxdriverplugin_qws.h>
Public Members
QGfxDriverPlugin ()
~QGfxDriverPlugin ()
virtual QStringList keys () const = 0
virtual QScreen * create ( const QString & driver, int displayId ) = 0
DESCRIPTION
The QGfxDriverPlugin class provides an abstract base for Qt/Embedded graphics driver plugins.
The graphics driver plugin is a simple plugin interface that makes it easy to create custom graphics drivers.
Writing a graphics driver plugin is achieved by subclassing this base class, reimplementing the pure virtual functions keys() and create(),
and exporting the class with the Q_EXPORT_PLUGIN macro. See the Plugins documentation for details.
This class is only available in Qt/Embedded.
See also Plugins.
MEMBER FUNCTION DOCUMENTATION
QGfxDriverPlugin::QGfxDriverPlugin ()
Constructs a graphics driver plugin. This is invoked automatically by the Q_EXPORT_PLUGIN macro.
QGfxDriverPlugin::~QGfxDriverPlugin ()
Destroys the graphics driver plugin.
You never have to call this explicitly. Qt destroys a plugin automatically when it is no longer used.
QScreen * QGfxDriverPlugin::create ( const QString & driver, int displayId ) [pure virtual]
Creates a driver matching the type specified by driver, that will use display displayId.
See also keys().
QStringList QGfxDriverPlugin::keys () const [pure virtual]
Returns the list of graphics drivers this plugin supports.
See also create().
