Scripting an alarm
Hi All,
I am monitoring batch Processes running in UNIX environment.
I use PuTTy to monitor the process running.
I have to continuously monitor and look on the screen if some error has come or not.

If an error comes FAILURE word is displayed instead of SUCCESS as shown below on the screenshot.
I want to write a code such that if the word FAILURE appears on the PuTTy screen
a sound alarm may be raised or so.

Please see the attachment.

Kindly help me.

I am trying to write a program that will; 1) Show the message "Snoozing now...zzzz" on the screen for 5 seconds 2) Then in the same position show the message "The ALARM is going off now!" for 5 seconds 3) Repeat 1) then 2) infinitely until user presses Ctrl C I can't make it work. How would I be able to come to know that files/directoires in a Parent directory has been accessed (means contents of the file has been just viewed) by the user(s) in a group ? and mail the name(s) of those files/directories which has been accessed... NAME

       monitor - receive logging information from LPD

SYNOPSIS

       monitor [ -u ] [ -t ] [ port ]

DESCRIPTION

       The  monitor  program is a template for a printer status monitoring program.  It will open the specified TCP and/or UDP port, and then wait
       for accounting or other information to be sent.	It prints this information on it standard output.

OPTIONS

       -u   wait for connections on the UDP port.

       -t   wait for connections on the TCP port.

       port Use the specified port number.

EXIT STATUS

       The following exit values are returned:

       zero (0)       Successful completion.

       non-zero (!=0) An error occurred.
