There is no issue with sharing your Mac disk with the Linux VM, but for memory and CPU there are limitations to what you can allocate to the VM.

hi I was trying to install Solaris on my PC. when i selected Auto Ejaection of cd & auto reboot.....then it displayed that u will need to manually eject current disk, & change ur booting options to reboot for installation.. then after selecting appropriate options, the instalation started.......
