Amending my previous script so as to preserve the suffix you get:

     j=$(echo $i | cut -d \: -f1) # remove the suffix in the loop
     if FOUND=$(grep $j PM09134500) ; then
        echo "$i TRUE"

        echo "$i FALSE"
    fi

IntlDateFormatter::isLenient - Get the lenient used for the IntlDateFormatter
