Thanks your awk works fine on LINUX box.
But i pity myself, the same thing doesnt work on AIX.... Smilie Smilie
It throws this error

Syntax Error The source line is 1.
The error context is
BEGIN{printf str} {if(NR%5==0){print $1"\t"$2;i=1}else{printf >>> i== <<<
awk: 0602-502 The statement cannot be correctly parsed. The source line is 1.

when i execute

nt sure why it fails on AIX Smilie Smilie
