What's there left to suggest?

Install VMware Workstation or VirtualBox. Create a new Linux VM. Tell it to use the installation ISO in the virtual CD/DVD drive. Install Linux distribution of choice. Install either the InstantClient (if you already have a DB server) or the Express Edition (if you need a DB to experiment with). Both have plenty of documentation associated with it for installation and usage.
