Well, try

ssh -v user@hostaddr

and then

ssh -v user@hostaddr /bin/date

to see what is failing. Or you can use what you normally connect to a remote system ... rsh or what have you ... instead of ssh or ssh2.

If this is something you will run repeatedly, have you looked at rsync?

cp a dty without symbolic links?

Hi, - we have copy (cp command) to do to save all the contents of a dty BUT we dont want to copy the files corresponding to symbolic links contained whithin this dty - the box is a sun solaris one - and the cp commande do not say avything about that? thanks for help Jakez (7 Replies)

I need to copy a directory from a production system to a test system on the same Aix server. NAME

       man.conf - configuration data for man

DESCRIPTION

       This  file is read by man(1) and contains (a) information on how to construct the search path for man, (b) full path names for various pro-
       grams like nroff, eqn, tbl etc. used by man, and (c) a list with uncompressors for files with a given extension.  An alternative version of
       this file can be specified with

	      man -C private_man.conf ...

       The  command  names  may be provided with options.  Useful options to nroff can be found in grotty(1).  For example, instead of the default
       line

	      NROFF /usr/bin/groff -mandoc -Tlatin1

       one may write

	      NROFF /usr/bin/groff -mandoc -Tlatin1 -P-u -P-b

       in order to suppress underlining and overstriking.
