It is just find command, that searches for regular files (-type f), that are not ending with ".zip" (! -name "*.zip"), and executes rm on them (-exec rm {} \Smilie

Need help creating a script to FTP files to a server and then delete the files that were transfered.

I am trying to FTP files to a Windows server through my Linux machine. I have setup the file transfer with no problems but am having problem deleting those files from the Linux box. Hello, Have a folder with lots of files & directories. Want to delete all stuff except a particular pattern say "abc*". Pattern will be in base directory & descending the structure is not required. Can easily do it with looping or "grep -v", but wondering if there is an elegant solution. (5 Replies)

zipsplit - split a zipfile into smaller zipfiles SYNOPSIS
zipsplit [-t] [-i] [-p] [-s] [-n size] [-r room] [-b path] [-h] [-v] [-L] zipfile ARGUMENTS
zipfile Zipfile to split. OPTIONS
-t Report how many files it will take, but don't make them. -i Make index (zipsplit.idx) and count its size against first zip file. -n size Make zip files no larger than "size" (default = 36000). -r room Leave room for "room" bytes on the first disk (default = 0). -b path Use path for the output zip files. -p Pause between output zip files. -s Do a sequential split even if it takes more zip files. -h Show a short help. -v Show version information. -L Show software license. DESCRIPTION
