This should do the trick:

Typically I don't use for loops like the above as they only work in the bash shell, but the code to populate arrays from a file (lines 2 and 3) only work in bash anyway, so "in for a penny in for a pound".

Oh, and for your password prompting have a look "stty -echo" and "stty echo"

DESCRIPTION

       The  echo()  function enables Echo mode for the current screen. The noecho() function disables Echo mode for the current screen. Initially,

       ware echo only. Hardware echo must remain disabled for the duration of the application, else the behavior is undefined.

RETURN VALUES
