Yes,
M001 has no sim card, so no GPRS and it's quite poor in many other aspects.
I just needed a bigger display to read pdf files without the need to convert them in ebook format as technical documentation - diagrams, programming code etc. - is quite different (unreadable) after the conversion (my phone has a 2.4" only display ...).

I still believe that, as far as the mobile Internet is concerned, the best solution is still the smart phone, not the tablet. When you need Internet in your pocket, you just need a smaller device. The tablet is quite big and still quite limited in many aspects.

The ipheth driver provides support for network access through Apple iPhone and iPad devices, often referred to as USB tethering. ipheth should work with any Apple iPhone or iPad device. In most cases this must be explicitly enabled on the device first. For more information on configuring this device, see ifconfig(8). The device does not support different media types or options. Some devices may need to be manually configured to use an alternative configuration with the usbconfig(8) utility. A command similar to usbconfig -u 1 -a 2 set_config 3 may be required if the device is not recognised automatically by ipheth after it is connected. BSD
