that is when adding a '{' or '}' that the editor will jump and advance, or any other thing like that?

I recently coded a typical ftp script looking like
ftp -n $hostname <<

<commands..>
quit
!
I know the code fails when you try to indent it like:
ftp $hostname <<
user $user $pass
<commands..>

Hi,
I'm working on a big project and all the CPP and header files are in mess with respect to indentation. I would like to indent whole file(s) at once (like ctrl-shift-f in eclipse). Is there anybody who knows how to do that in vi/vim?

I'm working with gvim, and opened an old file for editing.
the file 'older' indents are diffrent from the current and I wish to set the file to cahnge the whole file to the new indenting setting at once.

SYNOPSIS
printOK [indent]

DESCRIPTION
General
messages is a collection of functions to print standard status messages - those [ OK ] and [FAIL] messages you see during Linux boot process.
The function list:
printOK Prints a standard [ OK ] message (green)
printFAIL Prints a standard [FAIL] message (red)
printNA Prints a standard [ N/A] message (yellow)
printATTN Prints a standard [ATTN] message (yellow)
printWAIT Prints a standard [WAIT] message (yellow)
Detailed interface description follows.
indent
Column to move to before printing.
Default indent is calculated as TTY_WIDTH-10. If current tty width can not be determined (for example, in case of serial console), it
defaults to 80, so default indent is 80-10=10
