Hi,
We have a requirement to transfer(FTP) files created in a particular directory (In Solaris) to NT machine. Also this process neeeds to be automated.
I belive a command MAIL in UNIX could be used to find new files created in a directory, but this just sends the file list to the logged user.... (5 Replies)

I'm slowly (very slowly) learning csh and the UNIX underpinnings of Mac OS X so please bear with me.
I want to be able to ftp a file to my personal webspace at work. I can do this by manually going in and doing
ftp host.domain.com
user:
password:
cd /folder
put myfile
etc..

Hi guys, Can you please help me.
I have SUN V100 server running solaris 8.
I also have a Redhat Linux 6.2 machine and a windows XP machine on the network.
I'm trying to copy files from the Linux and XP machines to the V100 server.

We are using SCO OS 5.05 server and we are doing a manual ftp to another SCO OS 5.05 server to backup our database.
We are using the Bourne shell.
We would like to automate the ftp backup of our database instead of doing it manually.
It would be nice to run a script.

I am looking for automatic FTP script from UNIX to UNIX servers. I have two problems that anyone may help:
1- The directory where the files have to be FTPed is varied, where it is identified by the date of today (YYYYMMDD)

i need to download files from a ftp-server that not older than $VAR (x) days
eg for seven days
./script 7
or two weeks
./script 14
all files from the last 14 days will download but how i can explain "ftp" this?

DATASET FTPIN $sic/ctl/ftpsic.ctl DISP=OLD,KEEP,KEEP

If we run this step we are getting the error.

lsh-krb-checkpw - program to check a Kerberos username/password combination SYNOPSIS
lsh-krb-checkpw username-to-check DESCRIPTION
This manual page documents briefly the lsh-krb-checkpw command. This manual page was written for the Debian distribution because the orig- inal program does not have a manual page. Instead, it has documentation in the GNU Info format; see below. lsh-krb-checkpw is a program that checks if a username and password combination is valid for login by doing a kerberos lookup. It is designed to be used as a password helper program for lshd (8), (eg. --password-helper=/usr/sbin/lsh-krb-checkpw. lsh-krb-checkpw takes one required argument, which is the username, and reads the password from stdin, then returns 0 if the password is valid, or 1 otherwise. Note that the password must be supplied exactly, ie. there must be no newline after the password, so if invoking from a shell, just type "<your-password><CTRL-D>". SEE ALSO
