no, it's not. alsaunmute can't find your card. ergo, the driver's not working. Either you need to prod the new driver into working somehow(maybe you need to modprobe it's kernel module?), or you need to uninstall the driver and use your original one.

I can't make my pc speakers beep

I don't know why, but when I issue echo -e '\a' or beep. I get only some sound, set in my OS (Ubuntu Karmic). I tried to run these on Lenovo Y510KA and Lenovo S10-2. Is there another way to make my laptops beep?.. (3 Replies)

The snd_csa bridge driver allows the generic audio driver sound(4) to attach to Crystal Semiconductor CS461x/462x/4280 based sound cards. HARDWARE
