Solaris, SCSI M.O Drive on x86
Hi, i'm trying to install a MO Disk Drive Sony model: SMO-f541, to read a 2.6gb Magneto Optical Disk, I install Solaris 10 in a x86 machine with these specifications:
Desktop Board Intel*D946GZIS
Intel core 2 duo 4300, 80ghz
Ram 2038
hard disk 250 gb
I have a PCI SCSI card AHA-2940UW,
At the beginning I have a trouble with the grafic card, but following this tutorial I had the window mode.
8. X Windows (Solaris x86 FAQ)
Later I install the driver for the AHA-2940UW, following this pdf
http://www.adaptec.com/en-US/support...wof_ug_pdf.htm
I downloaded the driver called: 7800_fw_v200_sol.dd
I use too this manual
http://dlc.sun.com/pdf/816-4468-10/816-4468-10.pdf
but I don't have the (cXtXdXsX) then I cant use the “mount”
I found this manual for the optical drive, but I dont understand it:
http://www.sony.com.au/objects/AAASu..._Guide_aus.PDF
I did all of this but Solaris can't see the MO Drive, What can I do?
Thanks!!!
Javier Latorre.

NAME
aic -- Adaptec AIC-6260 and AIC-6360 SCSI driver
SYNOPSIS
device aic
In /boot/device.hints:
hint.aic.0.at="isa"
DESCRIPTION
The aic driver provides support for the Adaptec AIC-6260 and AIC-6360 SCSI controller chips. Many systems that use these controller chips do
not have a boot ROM and therefore cannot be booted from.
HARDWARE
The adapters supported by the aic driver include:
o Adaptec AHA-1505 (ISA)
o Adaptec AHA-1510A, AHA-1510B (ISA)
o Adaptec AHA-1520A, AHA-1520B (ISA)
o Adaptec AHA-1522A, AHA-1522B (ISA)
o Adaptec AHA-1535 (ISA)
o Creative Labs SoundBlaster SCSI host adapter (ISA)
o Adaptec AHA-1460, AHA-1460B, AHA-1460C, AHA-1460D (PC Card)
o Adaptec AHA-1030B, AHA-1030P (PC98)
o NEC PC-9801-100 (PC98)

BUGS
The driver does not work well with multiple devices on the SCSI bus. The driver works well with devices like CDROMs and Tape drives. The
driver works not so well with disk drives. The PC Card version appears to work better than the ISA version, but that may be due to differing
levels of testing of the devices.
