Hi,

This script is working fine on Linux, when i did try the same on SunOS, I am getting the below error:

awk: syntax error near line 3
awk: bailing out near line 3

Any Help..

Weird difference in script execution

Hi, So I have a very simple script which loops over 5 times and prints the iterator value. #!/bin/sh START=1 END=5 for i in $(eval echo "{$START..$END}") do echo "$i" done If I save this script in a .sh file and run it in the terminal, the output I get is {1..5} (4 Replies)

awk to calculate difference of split and sum the difference

In the awk I am trying to subtract the difference $3-$2 of each matching $4 before the first _ (underscore) and print that value in $13. I think the awk will do that, but added comments. Igawk is a simple shell script that adds the ability to have ``include files'' to gawk(1). AWK programs for igawk are the same as for gawk, except that, in addition, you may have lines like @include getopt.awk in your program to include the file getopt.awk from either the current directory or one of the other directories in the search path.
