this is how it was working before

Code:
if `egrep -s "/usr2/bin/ftpd" /var/tmp/check.tmp` 
then
        echo "   FTPD is Running..."

now i want to add a OR statement with it

Code:
tail -20 /usr2/logs/ftp.log | grep -c disconnecting = 0

so

Code:
if `egrep -s "/usr2/bin/ftpd" /var/tmp/check.tmp` OR  tail -20 /usr2/logs/ftp.log | grep -c disconnecting = 0
then
        echo "   FTPD is Running...
else
       echo " FTPD is not Running.

NAME

       xferlog2dlf - convert FTP logs in xferlog format to DLF format

SYNOPSIS

       xferlog2dlf

DESCRIPTION

       This script reads an FTP logfile in xferlog format. Most FTP servers use this format, among these are ProFTPD, WU-FTPD.

EXAMPLES

       To process a log as produced in the xferlog format:

	$ xferlog2dlf < ftp.log

       xferlog2dlf will be rarely used on its own, but is more likely called by lr_log2report:

	$ lr_log2report xferlog < /var/log/ftp.log
