This command will prepare the ouput of who command for printing.
1) who | sort ---> will sort out the who command output
2) The sorted output is redirected to sortedfile
3) pr command will prepare the text of sortedfile for printing
4) lp command will send the prepared text to printer
Here is my problem. I don't know make this redirection thing work. The output file (called output.c) looks like this
#include<stdio.h>
int main()
{
int k;
int m;
print f("%d\n", k);
printf("%d\n", m);
return 0;
}
the input file(called input.c) is this
#include<stdio.h>

Hi,
I have a Perl script that finds some files based on some criteria and then it processes the file contents using some logic.
Extract:

$size=@arr;
print "Size: ".$size
If I turn on the Perl debugging option then I... (3 Replies)

Hi
I am using solaris 10. When running a grep command with multiple files the output is the same as the order of the input. As soon as I pipe the output to another command then it seems that standard error takes precedence, over standard output and gets sent to the pipe first.
ie grep -c... (7 Replies)

pid
pid(n) Tcl Built-In Commands pid(n)__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________NAME
pid - Retrieve process identifiers
SYNOPSIS
pid ?fileId?
_________________________________________________________________DESCRIPTION
If the fileId argument is given then it should normally refer to a process pipeline created with the open command. In this case the pid
command will return a list whose elements are the process identifiers of all the processes in the pipeline, in order. The list will be
empty if fileId refers to an open file that is not a process pipeline. If no fileId argument is given then pid returns the process identi-
fier of the current process. All process identifiers are returned as decimal strings.
EXAMPLE
Print process information about the processes in a pipeline using the SysV ps program before reading the output of that pipeline:
set pipeline [open "| zcat somefile.gz | grep foobar | sort -u"]
# Print process information
exec ps -fp [pid $pipeline] >@stdout
# Print a separator and then the output of the pipeline
puts [string repeat - 70]
puts [read $pipeline]
close $pipeline
