I'm assuming the OP want a console from Solaris in which Putty is a great tool. Putty and NFS are not analogous.

You would assign an IP during the setup of Solaris just like you would on a bare metal.

install-solaris install-solaris invokes the Solaris Install program. Depending on graphical capability and available memory at the time of invocation, install-solaris invokes either a text-based installer or a graphical installer.
