Thanks for your reply, But when i used the command
ls *prod*|while read i; do mv "$i" "${i/i_prod/t_test}"; done
its giving me the error
"ksh: "${i/i_prod/t_test}": bad substitution"
Can you help in correcting it...

On this man page, ksh(1) commands that are preceded by one or two * (asterisks) are treated specially in the following ways:
