perl may be the better solution, below case is to find the word that are only composed of 'a','b','c' and each of them appear once.

Code:
while(<DATA>){
	my @tmp = split;
	foreach(@tmp){
		if(/^(?=[bc]*a)(?=[ac]*b)(?=[ab]*c)[abc]*$/){
			if(length($_)==3){
				print $_,"\n";
			}
		}
	}
}
__DATA__
begin
ab abc
abccc
abcd
a
bac
ccc
abb
abc abc
end
