Best graphical editor?

I am writing most of my scripts in the vi editor (OS is AIX) at present. Just trying to see if any of you would recommend some graphical editor that supports syntax highlighting (the editor has to run on AIX).

I have to log in to the UNIX server from a PC (using Xming and Putty), so it has to be something that is pretty resposive and lightweight.

In addition to shell scripting, I'll also end up writing some SQL and PL/SQL.

Thanks in advance!!
