Solaris JumpStart Image on Floppy?

I think for JumpStart installation you must have at least 5 GB available for dumping image of Solaris 10 DVD , but you can install Solaris through network . Just you need to create a boot and Install server

I have inserted a diskette but I don't see the files nor the floppy drive.
These are the commands I ran.
#volcheck -v
#rmformat
With rmformat, only the CD-ROM is listed. I don't see any floppy drive.

Hello,
I did this perfectly fine with S10Update3. But with S10Update4 something is strange
a) For some reason when I am moving to Update 4, it keeps prompting for name service etc etc. But this goes away if I give nfs4_domain=dynamic in the sysidcfg file. This was not happening for Update3. Any... (1 Reply)

install-solaris install-solaris invokes the Solaris Install program. Depending on graphical capability and available memory at the time of invocation, install-solaris invokes either a text-based installer or a graphical installer. The following minimum requirements for physical memory dictate which features are available during installation: For SPARC machines: 128 MB Minimum physical memory for all installation types 128 MB Minimum physical memory required for windowing system 384 MB Minimum physical memory required for graphical-based installation For x86 machines: 256 MB Minimum physical memory for all installation types 256 MB Minimum physical memory required for windowing system 512 MB Minimum physical memory required for graphical-based installation In some cases, even if the minimum physical memory is present, available virtual memory after system startup can limit the number of fea- tures available. install-solaris exists only on the Solaris installation media (CD or DVD) and should be invoked only from there.
