Break the sed statement
I was wondering if we can break the sed command into two or more sets of command. What I mean is that rather than having everything in one line we can have
sed ...
sed...
sed ..
Can anyone help ?

I want to get a substring from a string based on given delimiter, for example:
str="foo|bar|baz" with delimiter "|",
I want to get one substring at each time with the order number the substring in the whole string,
