Ok, so, how could I check if there's a network-layer firewall?

Here's the traceroute...it's in Spanish, where it says "Tiempo de espera agotado para esta solicitud" basically means a timeout happened, so as you can see, I can only trace the connection up to a certain point, but it's probably because of the network settings of the company I work for, 'cause doing a traceroute to Google yields almost the same results (i.e. timeout after 7 hops).

Anyway, here's the traceroute in case it helps:

i want to kill a tcp connection by killing its pid with netstat -an i got the tcp ip connection on port 5914 but when i type ps -a or ps-e there is not such process running on port 5914 is it possible that because i do not log on with proper user account i can not see that process running? lurker-search [-c <config-file>] [-k <keyword>] [-d -f -i -v -q] [<terms>*] DESCRIPTION
lurker-search searches a lurker database the same way as the web interface. It can output summary information and delete messages. OPTIONS
